A collaboration between Neste, HERE Technologies, and PTV Group indicates that traffic-related CO 2 emissions can be reduced by choosing the right driving route, especially in urban areas on short trips with private cars. A CO 2 -friendly route is based on the lowest possible fuel consumption and through that to lower CO 2 emissions.

A three-year biofuel trial organized by Neste Oil, Helsinki Region Transport (HSL), and Proventia has recently been completed, and the results have shown that Neste Oil’s NExBTL renewable diesel can significantly reduce local emissions that have a direct impact on urban air quality. From 2008 onwards, some ran on 100% NExBTL.

Neste Oil has received an ISCC ( International Sustainability & Carbon Certification ) certificate for the NExBTL renewable diesel produced at the company’s Porvoo refinery in Finland. Produced from all the suitable raw materials used at the moment, the fuel has more than 50% lower greenhouse gas emissions than fossil diesel.
