Neste is the first company in Finland to provide a service for companies and other organizations to monitor their climate emissions caused by the use of transport fuels. Road transport accounts for more than 90% of the total transport emissions in Finland.

Neste Oil is beginning the commercial use of tall oil pitch as a feedstock for refining into transportation fuel. Neste Oil celebrated the grand opening of its NExBTL renewable diesel refinery in the Port of Rotterdam. The emission benefits of the refinery’s output will be equivalent of removing more than a quarter of a million cars from the roads. The Rotterdam refinery is also capable of utilizing future feedstocks such as algae oil.

A three-year biofuel trial organized by Neste Oil, Helsinki Region Transport (HSL), and Proventia has recently been completed, and the results have shown that Neste Oil’s NExBTL renewable diesel can significantly reduce local emissions that have a direct impact on urban air quality.
