Volvo Car Corporation to Introduce Diesel Plug-in Hybrid in Europe in 2012

Volvo Car Corporation is postponing its plans to produce a full hybrid based on a diesel engine and instead will introduce a series-produced plug-in diesel hybrid (PHEV) in Europe as early as 2012. For longer distances, the diesel automatically takes over. The combined range is about 1,200 kilometers (746 miles).
