Norway now has two swap stations in operation, and Nio claims it will have 20 swap stations across Europe in countries including Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden by the end of this year. The IDTechEx report includes the supply chain and energy storage capacities for various battery swapping players.

As part of a research project into e-mobility and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) charging in Slovakia, a Tritium Veefil-RT 50kW DC fast charger has been installed at the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. All the Veefil-RT chargers are positioned along the Belgium motorway system, linking the country’s major cities.

According to Plet, wind energy is driving an acceleration of HVDC installations in Europe. Energy from the AC source is stored in DC capacitors in the submodules.
