1200 units of BYD YUAN Pro EVs (known locally as S1 PRO) are exported to Costa Rica this year. The YUAN Pro is designed with BYD’s latest Dragon Face 3.0 design, with large and thick tires. This batch of BEVs sets a new sales record in Latin America for BYD.

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) staff has posted two new fuel pathway applications submitted under the California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) Method 2 pathway approval process: one for dehydrated Brazilian sugarcane ethanol produced by a company in Costa Rica, the other for domestic corn ethanol. The contract is to supply a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) propulsion package for a cargo carrier designed by NSK Ship Design for Norwegian shipowner NSK Shipping. Both ships are designed by NSK Ship Design. Rolls-Royce has signed a US$6.5-million million contract with Tersan Shipyard in Turkey.

This spurred Julie Angus to cofound the startup Open Ocean Robotics to design, build, and operate oceangoing uncrewed surface vehicle (USV) drones. The company designs and builds the drone’s hull, deck, and circuit boards. She is the company’s CEO. They can travel for months at a time collecting ocean and environmental data.
