Wärtsilä will supply its Wärtsilä HY Module , a containerized hybrid battery power and energy storage system to Maersk Supply Service, the Denmark-based provider of offshore marine services and integrated solutions for the global energy sector. This is believed to be the world’s first AHTS hybrid battery conversion.

ABS has confirmed the successful conversion of a slow-speed marine diesel engine to operate on ethane as a fuel. AC Propulsion has delivered an AC Propulsion-powered eBox to the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where it will be used to evaluate Vehicle to Grid (V2G) operation as part of a research program. AC Propulsion is a pioneer in the development of V2G systems and has supplied eBox vehicles to several V2G test programs.

Researchers from the Technical University of Denmark and Haldor Topsoe, with colleagues from the Danish Technological Institute and Sintex have developed a “ disruptive approach to a fundamental process ” by integrating an electrically heated catalytic structure directly into a steam-methane–reforming (SMR) reactor for hydrogen production.
