I pre-laid out these batteries on the floor to guestimate what the connections between the terminals were. I've got an e-mail into ElectroAuto for some connection diagrams, but haven't received the files yet. A modification of the prior strap is basically what is suggested in the DC kit instructions. We're getting closer.

They provided an upgrade kit with lock washers and loctite to remedy the problem. I had already installed the motor in the 914 and chose to not perform the upgrade due to the hassle of removing the motor. Here are the pieces for the upgrade kit above one of the motor bolts. Here's the back end of the transmission/motor.

My 914ev partner-in-crime Randy (who purchased the very first 914 AC kit from ElectroAuto) e-mailed me some photographs of how he's wiring up his terminal blocks and relays. Many months ago, I installed a PakTrakr ( www.paktrakr.com ) to monitor the state of my batteries and it's been acting rather flakey. The PakTrakr consists of several serially connect "remotes" which drive a "display" unit in the driver compartment. We'll see what this year has in store. Cheers, Tim.
