Electrify America announced collaborations with nine additional companies to host more than 30 ultra-fast electric vehicle charging stations across the US. Electrify America plans to install or have under development 484 charging station sites featuring more than 2,000 ultra-fast chargers by July 2019. .

Electrify America will now charge customers in 23 states plus the District of Columbia by the kilowatt-hour. In the remaining states where the company operates, Electrify America will continue to offer pricing on a per-minute basis with customers billed for the time spent charging. Plus, all session fees have been eliminated.

Under the proposed settlement, lodged with the US District Court for the District of Columbia, Daimler will recall and repair the emissions systems in Mercedes-Benz diesel vehicles sold in the United States between 2009 and 2016 and pay $875 million in civil penalties and roughly $70.3 million in other penalties.

Electrify America announced its “Boost Plan” to more than double its current electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in the United States and Canada, with plans to have more than 1,800 fast charging stations and 10,000 individual chargers installed by the end of 2025.

Soderholm will be installing Lightning eMotors’ fully electric powertrain systems in repowered applications in Hawaii, as well as buying new Lightning eMotors’ vans and shuttle buses. Its customers include ABC Companies, Amazon, DHL, California State Hospitals, Fluid Trucks, and various public transit agencies.

The District of Columbia has a tax credit of 50% of the incremental cost of an EV, up to $19,000. The District also exempts EVs from its excise tax, which varies from 6% to 8% depending on vehicle weight. The ratepayer must also install a separate meter dedicated to the PEV.

The company’s first app allows users to manage the entire charging session on their phone, increasing convenience for electric vehicle (EV) owners. The company also is introducing two charging membership plans called Electrify America Pass and Electrify America Pass+. Once your session is complete, the app will provide a receipt.
