It has unveiled its first commercialised hybrid electric vehicle, known as the Forte Liquid Petroleum Injection (LPI) Hybrid in Seoul Korea. Its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are just 99g/km.

Locally, Toyota has yet to even put a BEV on-sale and, of course, it makes a fortune out of CO2 and particulate-emitting diesel SUVs and utes. In response, Toyota points to the thousands of petrol-electric hybrids it has sold here and overseas. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before Toyota has a clean green ute to tempt them.
