The report is the initial analysis called for in Senate Bill 100 (SB 100, De León, Chapter 312, Statutes of 2018), the state’s policy requiring that renewable and zero-carbon energy resources supply 100% of electric retail sales to customers by 2045. A clean electricity grid is necessary to achieve economywide carbon neutrality.

There have been vigorous debates pro and con in the United States and elsewhere over whether electric grids can support EVs at scale. Palo Alto’s government has set a very aggressive Sustainability and Climate Action Plan with a goal of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions to 80 percent below the 1990 level by the year 2030.

Tesla and Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) invitd 25,000 customers to create the world’s largest distributed battery to support grid reliability, the utility announced. The program allows homeowners with a Tesla Powerwall to send electricity to the grid when needed. Tomorrow, the PUC will hold a VPP workshop.

Awarded to CALSTART and managed by CALSTART and the Shared-Use Mobility Center in partnership with GRID Alternatives and the Local Government Commission, projects will also aim to address “first and last-mile connector trips”: getting residents to and from their homes and local transit stops. The $17 million funds the program for two years.

If SCE Won’t Tell The Truth About Climate Change Why Should We Trust Them About Anything? After my volunteer stint was over I stayed for the presentation and workshop. Overall it was a good workshop with lots of solid basic information for people who don’t know much about solar but are considering a solar electric system.
