Since its entry in India three years ago, Citroen has introduced four models in the market, beginning with the premium C5 Aircross SUV. The company rolls out its cars and SUVs from the PCA Motors plant in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. Citroen India’s second product is the C3 sub-four-metre hatchback with crossover styling.

Electric PV market leader Tata Motors , which has the largest portfolio comprising the Nexon EV, Tigor EV, Tiago EV, Xpres-T (for fleet buyers) and the Punch EV, has sold an estimated 55,734 units, which helps it maintain its lead with a 70% share in a dynamic market which is seeing rivals roll out new competitive products.

The three seat mia electric city car ( earlier post ) is powered by a Leroy Somer asynchronous motor which will be controlled by Sevcon’ Gen4 size 4 80V 350A motor control ( earlier post ). Sales of the mia will initially focus on public and private fleet operators with sales to private customers starting in 2012.
