General Motors India recently launched the CNG version of its Chevrolet Aveo mid-size sedan. The Aveo CNG is a bi-fuel vehicle with a full-size gasoline tank. The running cost of the CNG Aveo is approximately 54% lower than a similar vehicle powered by gasoline and 25% lower than a similar vehicle powered by diesel, according to GM.

In 2009, Chevrolet will further expand its LPG product range throughout Europe. Switzerland, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and Spain will offer LPG-versions in addition to the regular gasoline and diesel range. Chevrolet’s strategy is to offer LPG versions for its entire product line-up.

GM says that it has tested the compressed natural gas (CNG) tank in the 2015 Bi-fuel Chevrolet Impala ( earlier post ) under normal and extreme conditions, exceeding both federal requirements and CNG industry guidelines. Prototypes for what’s considered the upcoming Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 took to the Nürburgring this month, and we have now brandnew pictures and video. The prototypes featured wide-body designs, terminating aero kits, and extra cooling for the powertrain, considered a twin-turbocharged model of the Z06’s V-8.
