In the UK, the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP) and the Energy Saving Trust (EST), together with industry stakeholders, have launched the Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme ( CVRAS ). Next year the Government will publish a comprehensive Clean Air Strategy which will address other sources of air pollution.

The California Energy Commission unanimously adopted the 2013-2014 Investment Plan Update to support the development and use of green vehicles and alternative fuels. An estimated 68 stations are needed to support the anticipated rollout of these vehicles in 2015-2017. 20 million for hydrogen fueling infrastructure.

The strategy builds on the existing 2007 strategy to reduce CO 2 emissions from passenger cars and light-duty commercial vehicles, and complements ongoing and planned activities to decarbonize transport and to reduce their environmental impacts. Tesla says an Australian automotive industry lobby group is attempting to delay climate action by making false claims about the government’s clean car policy. The FCAI said in response to Tesla’s submission that wants to continue supporting automakers and their goals to reduce carbon emissions from vehicles.

Replacing fleet vehicles powered by standard internal combustion engines with either hybrid vehicles or vans and trucks converted to CNG could reduce gasoline consumption by more than 49 million gallons during the next 10 years and trim carbon dioxide emissions by 211,000 metric tons total over that period.
