GM has made three product commitments for 2017 related to its sustainability strategy: to have 500,000 vehicles on the road in the US with some form of electrification ( earlier post ); to double the number of US models that can achieve an EPA-estimated 40 mpg US (5.9 Manufacturing energy use and emissions. In 2016, SporTran won the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Low or No-Emission Vehicle Deployment Grant, which funded the five electric buses, three depot chargers and an on-route fast charger. The five Proterra 40' Catalyst E2 buses will go into service this month, and serve Louisiana’s third-largest city.

In addition to the FT-Bh on display, TMC said it has conceived two alternative versions: a compressed natural gas (CNG) hybrid version with CO 2 emissions of 38 g/km and a plug-in hybrid version with CO 2 emissions of just 19 g/km.
