The British luxury car manufacturer Bentley has pledged to become carbon neutral by 2030 and planning to release their first electric vehicle in 2025. Bently has also launched a new initiative called the Five-in-Five plan, which calls for the company to release a new electric vehicle every year from 2025 through 2030.

The Volkswagen Group can't seem to get enough luxury electric cars. The Audi e-tron SUV and Porsche Mission E sedan will go into production over the next few years, with an electric version of the VW Phaeton sedan expected as well.

Hydrogen cars are struggling to gain a foothold in the expansion of cleaner and greener electric cars. Bentley, for example, revealed in an interview with British car magazine Autocar last spring that it is considering fuel cells to give its large SUVs greater.

China’s Nio has pulled the drapes off the Nio ET9 it hopes will steal sales from luxurious European brands Mercedes-Maybach, Bentley and, even, Rolls-Royce when it lands in China in 2025 priced from 800,000 yuan ($165,000). 2025 Nio ET9 is intended to be a rival for German luxury cars.
