Ford is targeting zero emissions for all vehicle sales and carbon neutrality across its European footprint of facilities, logistics and suppliers by 2035, and carbon neutrality globally no later than 2050. Additionally purchases of Ford Pro Special Vehicles with a customized box for inner city distribution in Germany, were concluded.

RNG is a key part of UPS’ strategy to increase alternative fuel consumption to be 40% of total ground fuel purchases by 2025, supporting the logistics leader’s efforts to reduce the absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of its ground fleet 12% by 2025.

Deutsche Post DHL Group is introducing a global DHL Green Carrier Certification to reward road transport subcontractors for their efforts to become more sustainable. As part of its sustainability roadmap, Deutsche Post DHL Group aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to below 29 million tons by 2030 and net-zero by 2050.

Deutsche Post DHL has signed a letter of intent for a possible future global framework agreement with car manufacturer Renault. The intended global agreement shall contain the options for a future purchase of Renault Kangoo Z.E. As part of its global efforts, Deutsche Post DHL works with all major car manufacturers worldwide.

Toyota will launch the Mirai fuel cell vehicle in Sweden and Norway this summer, following other European countries that have introduced the Toyota Mirai in 2015 (UK, Germany and Denmark) or early 2016 (Belgium). Toyota estimates selling around 30,000 units a year globally in 2020 from 3,000 units in 2017.

Germany-based ethanol producer CropEnergies, a member of the Südzucker Group, the largest sugar producer in Europe, has acquired the UK bioethanol producer Ensus Limited, based in Yarm, England. Via Ensus, CropEnergies gains access to the British bioethanol market, the third largest market for bioethanol in the EU after Germany and France.
