The Washington State legislature has passed legislation that sets a target for all MY2030 or later passenger and light-duty vehicles sold in Washington State to be electric vehicles. Nicole Macri (D-Seattle) as HB 1204, the bill is now the first LDV combustion-engine phaseout target to be passed through the legislative process.

The bikes, manufactured by Seattle-based Rad Power Bikes , were procured for the program through the help of Roll, a local e-bike rental company. Recipients will also receive helmets, LED lights, locks, panniers and training. Pedal-assist e-bikes use an electric motor and battery to help power the bike.
