The two liquid-cooled electric motors installed in the eActros generate a continuous output of 330 kW and a peak output of 400 kW. The batteries consist of either three (eActros 300) or four battery packs (eActros 400), each of which offers an installed capacity of 112 kWh and a usable capacity of around 97 kWh.

The US Department of Energy has issued these steps for claiming the CVC, which may be up to $7,500 on your personal or business taxes: Fill out Form 8936 , the Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit. BEVs require the use of a charging cable or EV charging station in order to charge the battery.

BMW unveiled the BMW i8 2+2 plug-in hybrid sports car ( earlier post ) today at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The BMW Group has developed not only the internal combustion engine and electric motor in-house but also the power electronics and the battery. The BMW i8 goes on sale in the US in 2014. Daimler Trucks also presented for the first time a preview of a purely battery-powered long-haul truck, the Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul, which is designed to cover regular journeys on routes that can be planned in an energy-efficient manner. Battery power will be rather used for lower cargo weights and for shorter distances.
