While it’s not cheap, the EV9 comes loaded with equipment and technology to help justify a circa-$100K starting price when it arrives in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2023. While the EV9 Air will be the entry-level model it will come with plenty of kit. However, that’s a combo it looks like Australia won’t initially get.

The Kia also gets the longest standard warranty at seven years, although its battery warranty is also seven years (and 160,000km), which is one year less than that covering the other three on test here. While it’s available as a seven-seater overseas, the Model Y is only being offered with five seats in Australia. The hardware for the tow kit is due in 2023.

The Model 3 has the ability to tow overseas but it is not designed to tow in Australia. There are also aftermarket companies (such as EV Stealth Solutions) working on a tow kit for the Model Y. No surprises that it sounds better, with more punch to the bass, although the 3 RWD still has a great standard sound system.

For the same money the wagon with Launch Edition kit looks the pick. Audi Australia didn’t know the range difference the smaller wheels make to range.
