Turku commissioned local boatyards Mobimar to complete the upgrade, where the vessel was dry-docked in March this year.

The Aura II , scheduled to be delivered in spring 2012, will be a multi-purpose dry cargo ship that can also be used for oil recovery operations in the Baltic Sea. In addition, the ship is designed for the transport of heavy modules to the offshore industry in the North Sea basin. Specific fuel oil consumption (SFOC) is 187 g/kWh.

The researchers used tropospheric NO 2 columns retrieved from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) on NASA’s Aura satellite, which measures NO 2 throughout the atmosphere in the afternoon around the world. The OMI-derived surface NO 2 data are significantly correlated (r = 0.69) with in situ surface measurements.
