UPS plans to invest approximately $50 million to build an additional nine liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueling stations, bringing the total number of stations to 13. Building these fueling stations is a solid future investment for UPS. Four were announced in April, and all should be operational by the end of 2014.

They will be operated by Alberta trucking companies Trimac Transportation and Bison Transport. AZETEC will test hydrogen as a zero-emissions alternative fuel to diesel for freight transportation, along with the refueling infrastructure and other systems that would be required for Alberta to implement this new fuel solution.
