Southern California Edison (SCE) released a white paper summarizing learnings from its Electric Vehicle (EV) readiness program. Currently, SCE customers lease or own more than 12,000 plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs), both battery electric (BEVs, for about 35%) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs, for about 65%)—about 10% of national EV sales.

The US Department of Energy (DOE), through its Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity ( AVTA ) at Idaho National Laboratory (INL), has completed 1 million miles of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) testing. Overall it was a good workshop with lots of solid basic information for people who don’t know much about solar but are considering a solar electric system. Ironically, Javier, who has been with SCE all of five years, is from the country of Spain – as he reminded us several times and as his accent was evidence of.

Backstage at the 2009 Warped Tour, Home Depot Stadium, Carson Calif. And I have never been more all now or totally happening. In this case for GRID Alternatives at a low income home in my old neighborhood in Long Beach, California. Thanks to them, a family’s electricity is now solar-powered.
