EPA Grants California Vehicle GHG Regulations Waiver

These regulations were authorized by the 2002 legislation Assembly Bill 1493 (Pavley). The resulting new national standards will cover model years 2012-2016, and will require an average fuel economy standard of 35.5 mpg in 2016 (39 mpg for cars, 30 mpg for trucks), or approximately 250 grams CO 2 /mile.
