Out in the desert as part of Burning Man , our encampment, Snow Koan Solar, is setting up a solar photovoltaic EV Charging Station (at 7:30 and Desert) for electric scooters, golf carts, sofas and barstools. We'll also be taking Burning Man art projects off petroleum generators by switching them to solar electricity.

In 2001 she terminated our grass lawns and replaced them with drought tolerant plants because of her concerns for water use. I volunteer with GRID Alternatives installing solar panels on low income and Habitat for Humanity houses. My wife, Debra, is a horticulturist and works at our local South Coast Botanic Garden.

But I will admit that one thing has changed even more than the size of our electric bill and that’s the size of the solar PV system we now need to generate 100% of our electricity – because the same moves that cut our electric bill also cut the number of solar panels we need by 50% too.
