of the human-made climate impact; two-thirds of this impact are caused by emissions other than CO 2 , according to a new study by researchers in Europe and the US. Both radiative forcing (RF) and effective radiative forcing (ERF) terms and their sums are calculated for the years 2000–2018. Aviation accounts for 3.5% Pitari, M.J.

New cars in Europe in 2013 collectively met 2015 CO2 target two years ahead of the deadline

Green Car Congress

Cars sold in Europe in 2013 were collectively 4% more efficient than the year before, according to provisional data from the European Environment Agency (EEA). Compared to the current levels the average emissions gap between gasoline and diesel was more than 10 times higher in 2000. 2015 target: 130 g CO 2 /km. Source: EEA.

The SMP model calculates 2000?2050 The Ford team updated the SMP model with historical data for 2000, 2005, and 2010, and extended the model to calculate the total CO 2 emissions (tonnes) and the TTW (tank-to-wheel) emission rate (g CO 2 /km) for the new vehicle fleet. They converted from an absolute amount to scale relative to 2000.

EEA: almost all Euro car makers met specific 2017 CO2 targets on new sales, but emissions up year-on-year

Green Car Congress

Amongst the largest automakers, Toyota Motor Europe had the lowest average CO 2 emissions for new passenger cars registered in 2017 (with 103 g CO 2 /km). The demand for passenger cars has been the main contributing factor to the trend in CO 2 emissions since 2000: when demand decreases, the emissions follow.

These ongoing improvements mean average CO 2 is still a third (-33.1%) lower than in 2000. The increase in the fleet average new car CO 2 figure follows 19 years of reductions resulting from investment in new, advanced engine, fuel and battery technology, as well as the use of lightweight materials such as aluminium and composites.
