Solaris to supply two hydrogen buses to Transdev in Sweden

The Urbino 12 hydrogen buses are fueled with power generated by a 70 kW fuel cell. They will be driven by an axle with electric motors. Besides that, the ordered vehicles will be fitted with Solaris High Power battery acting as an additional electric power storage facility.

The electric motor on the Citaro hybrid assists the combustion engine when high levels of power are required, particularly when moving off. It does not serve to boost maximum power; the output and torque figures for the bus remain unchanged. The electric power generated by recuperation is stored in a bank of supercapacitors.

Nissan and Endesa, an Enel Group subsidiary, signed an agreement at the Geneva International Motor Show pledging to work together to deliver a mass-market V2G system and an innovative business model designed to leverage this technology. Endesa will host a full demonstration of the market-ready and low cost system in Madrid on 12 March.
