I thought briefly about purchasing a car that got better gas mileage, but it made sense first to see how much fuel economy I could eek out from the aging econobox I am now driving: a 1991 Toyota Corolla. The companies listed on the MPGuino Wiki page as selling MPGuino boards or kits at one time are now out of that business.

The EPA has rated the fuel economy at 21 mpg city/28 highway/24 combined. Cracking 30 mpg on the open road with a midsize AWD was a nice surprise, but it really shouldn’t be that big of deal as Clean Fleet Report feels all AWD cars, at a minimum, should get 30+ mpg on the highway. non-turbo, rated at 25/28/26 mpg.

GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. It offers 18 models that deliver 30 mpg or more. You would be much better served doing a little investigative journalism (no offense intended) to determine the percentage of cars sold that get 30 mpg or better.
