I have posted here before with a different VW kit car build which was a 72v Wilderness EV kit in a Bentley kit body roadster. Recently I purchased another VW kit car that has from what I can tell a pretty complete set up. What I have is the following: 1) NetGain Warp motor 9" w/ Porsche / VW Adapter.

EVs are powered with an electric motor and inverter rather than an internal combustion engine, their internal components are radically different to ICEVs. They service all EV types, and offer pre-purchase inspections for EV buyers and regular maintenance services. Why are EV repairs different from regular cars?

My friend Nicole came over for a few hours to help me finish the transmission and put the motor/transmission together. with the flywheel and clutch on, Nicole and I used 2x4s and other shims that I got from Pete to line up the motor and the transmission. Here's Nicole putting in the bolts for the motor adapter plate.

After seeing the movie Who Killed The Electric Car , I got the nutty idea earlier this year to purchase an all-electric vehicle to commute to work. I was going to purchase an NmG from Myers Motors , but found the driver compartment a bit crowded and the driving range limited (only about 40 miles).

The instructions for the AC kit tell you to slide the motor speed control box through the two-inch hole that was cut in the wall between the engine compartment and the rear luggage compartment. In my haste, I added a computer grommet to the hole which made it just a bit too small to slide the motor control box through.

Here goes (in no particular order): Things That Went Well During the Conversion The 914 AC kit from Electro Automotive is a good one. I modified the wiring in the original 914 AC kit (as suggested by Paul Jorg) to turn on the regen when the brake lights came on instead of controlling regen by releasing the accelerator pedal.

As you may remember, I received a package from Azure Dynamics several weeks ago with a notice saying that the bolts on their electric motors tend to work their way loose occasionally. They provided an upgrade kit with lock washers and loctite to remedy the problem. Here's the back end of the transmission/motor.
