Since most of America’s electricity still comes from fossil fuels, electric vehicles charged by that source of energy indirectly generate greenhouse gasses. The trend toward electric vehicles will stimulate the reduction of greenhouse gases but not guarantee it. The current technologies work but have limits.

I drove the electric 914 back out to Camp914 where I originally purchased the car and drove it away as a gasoline vehicle. I've mentioned before that I'm working on an open-source EV kit. The 914ev blog might be winding down as I put more time and energy into the open-source project with its own blog. Yesterday was fun.

The all-wheel drive 2021 NX 300h is powered by the Lexus Hybrid Drive system, a parallel hybrid system where the electric motor can power the car by itself for short distances, the gas engine can power the car by itself, or they can power the car together. EV runs solely on electricity for about a half mile at no more than 25 miles per hour.
