TECO 2030 focuses on one of the biggest environmental challenges of our time: How to combine ever-increasing shipping volumes with reduced emissions? The plan is to start fuel cell production in 2022.

Additionally, in China, the desire to reduce air pollution for the Winter Olympics, as well as to reduce carbon dioxide emissions—5% of which are coming from the aluminum industry—is limiting the growth of aluminum production for 2022. China is importing aluminum on a massive scale to compensate for the domestic shortage.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), IVECO (a brand of CNH Industrial) and ENGIE (Global Energy Player) are broadly collaborating to promote natural gas vehicles and infrastructure in Europe. Together, FCA and IVECO intend to further develop their ranges of natural gas vehicles. ENGIE considers transportation a major development focus.

The new EU law will require that all carmakers achieve a 100 percent cut in CO2 emissions by 2035 for all new cars sold, eliminating the possibility that gas or petrol-fueled engines can be sold in any of the 27 countries in the EU. Austria-based OMV, an international, integrated oil, gas and chemicals company, announced its intention to become a net-zero (Scope 1, 2 and 3) company by no later than 2050. OMV’s plan foresees emission reduction targets of 30% in operations (Scope 1 & 2) and a 20% reduction target in the product portfolio (Scope 3) for 2030.

The actions will reduce CO 2 emissions by an estimated 15-25% at those facilities. This results in significant reductions of CO 2 emissions, as well as reductions in VOC compared to current medium-solids and solvent-borne paints. The only current location with 3-Wet capability in Europe is Craiova Assembly Plant, Craiova, Romania.
