Now that the 2011 Nissan Leaf and 2011 Chevy Volt have reached showrooms--a handful of them, anyhow--a new crop of electric vehicles will launch into the market for 2011. One of those may be the e6 all-electric crossover built by Chinese manufacturer BYD.

BYD Auto reportedly has sold less than 100 of its F3DM (dual-mode) plug-in hybrid electric vehicles ( earlier post ) through August. However, large Chinese automakers and regional government are still bullish on new energy vehicles, and making “abnormal” plans.

BYD has entered the Indian market with the model E6 which is an MPV. The Atto 3’s biggest rival will be the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric. The Atto 3’s biggest rival will be the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric. This means that it is larger than the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.

BYD, the China-based battery and automaker, will supply lithium-ion batteries to one of China’s top three auto groups for applications in hybrid vehicles. BYD, launched its production plug-in hybrid F3DM last December in China. The agreement markets BYD’s first Li-ion supply deal with a domestic China OEM. BYD: “ A real threat ”.
