Europcar provided a Shell Recharge card: you create an account, link your payment method and bingo! You need to download the Shell Recharge app, but as I have an Australian phone with an Australian Apple ID, it says it’s not available in my region. We drive out of our way to reach a fast DC charger. We try again.

The Terra 51 is a DC fast charger with output power up to 50 kW, and is compatible with all electric vehicles using the CHAdeMO standard. Epyon’s Terra 51 can recharge an EV battery in as little as 15 to 30 minutes. Maximum output current is 120A and the output voltage ranges from 50-550V.
