How does this sound: 100+ MPG in a regular vehicle? At $3 for a gallon of gas, driving a non-hybrid car costs 8-20 cents/mile (depending on MPG). PHEV conversions are emerging at a frenzied rate (see the frequency of CalCars-News postings), to the point where its no longer feasible to track every instance of a PHEV.

In the short trip over, the "Spirit" has a fully blue'd out screen showing that 100MPG, or as declared, 101 MPG had been reached for 30 plus minutes -- that is the regular Prius screen show six 5-minute blue segments all together in sequence! while the "Spirit" was enjoying her opportunity charge. until Amanda came.

Not to mention the parts you most definitely could sell from the running gear. Its a Lotus.

Theres a company in Guernsey (a UK island) which does conversions (the Mk1 shape), but I want a current shape model and a 60 mile range is just fine. o well I guess they think all yanks hate diesels. hopefully diesel prices will dip below regular since they finished all of the low sulfur diesel producing plants.
