Robert Transport of Boucherville, Quebec has issued a purchase order for 180 Peterbilt liquefied natural gas (LNG) trucks featuring Westport HD Systems. Canada has increased the depreciation rate applicable to commercial trucks or tractors from 40% to 60% for any new equipment acquired after 31 March 2010.

Eaton Corporation has established a program to assist diesel truck fleet owners in applying for the $156 million in grants for diesel hybrid trucks that are available under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The Eaton hybrid system is available on truck models from International, Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliner.

LCSWMA’s CNG project includes 14 new Peterbilt transfer trucks with Cummins-Westport ISX 12L CNG engines, costing around $2.2 So far, LCSWMA has agreements with Good’s Disposal, the City of Lancaster and PA-DEP, as well in discussions with Clean Energy, UGI and several other commercial fleets to use the CNG fast-fill station.
