The Ugly Coal sucks, there's really no two ways about it. But not all use of coal is alike. The Good About half our electricity comes from coal, and that will change, at best, slowly as we move to renewables. That includes the worst, most coal dependent areas. Support knows no party. It's the plug, stupid.

Of the fossil fuel subsidies, $70.2billion went to traditional sources such as coal and oil with just $2.3billion dedicated to carbon capture and storage, which is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. By contrast, the hybrid Prius is almost 0.42miles per MJ. Why is so much money dedicated to fossil fuels?
