The deal includes an order for three of Wabtec’s FLXdrive battery locomotives and a collaboration to test ammonia as a potential clean, alternative fuel to replace diesel. Today, three to four diesel locomotives pull the train. This way, we would have a clean operation at EFC.

Eligible diesel vehicles, engines and equipment may include drayage trucks; marine engines; locomotives and non-road engines; and equipment or vehicles used in the handling of cargo at a marine or inland water port. The Methanol Institute (MI) released two new reports on the use of methanol as a safe, efficient and clean alternative fuel for cars, trucks and buses. Methanol does not contain gum, and therefore high methanol blends have barely none existent gum in the fuel, which favors the functioning of induction-systems.
