Among all metals and materials used in EV battery cathodes globally, LCE deployment in February 2019 saw the greatest gains versus the year prior speaking to the Chinese industry’s growing adoption of NCM cathodes in place of LFP cathodes, fueling an increase in LCE consumption per kWh of capacity deployed.

I've long heard rumors of Chinese auto makers developing an electric car. It makes lots of sense, given Chinese battery production. I recalled hearing in 2005 that BYD acquired a license from Ovonics to manufacture NiMH batteries. Now, using Lithium (a Chinese product without lead!) we get a name, F6E, and a photo.

They compiled a transparent life cycle inventory (LCI) in a component-wise manner for nickel metal hydride (NiMH), nickel cobalt manganese lithium-ion (NCM), and iron phosphate lithium-ion (LFP) batteries.
