Mercedes-AMG is officially previewing its upcoming electric supercar. Shown drifting across a frozen lake during testing, the sporty Mercedes-AMG EV will rival the new +1,000 hp Porsche Taycan Turbo GT and +1,200 hp Lucid Air Sapphire. The concept is based on axial-flux motor tech developed by Mercedes-owned Yasa.

Cars Direct reported that the BMW 2024 BEV Conquest Program includes several other brands, including Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Polestar, Porsche, Rivian, and Lucid. That said, BMW’s EVs are not cheap, so the incentives should be a welcome move for hopeful buyers. Ford Mustang Mach-E and VW ID.4

While the Model Y dropped back from the incredible high of 5560 sales and second outright in June , it was still only beaten in the sales race by the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux utes and the cheap and cheerful MG ZS SUV. Add in 604 Model 3 sedan sales and Tesla claimed eighth overall in July with 3934 sales.
