Fleets don’t want to go electric at scale until they’ve done years-long pilots, but the Advanced Clean Trucks regulation will artificially constrict that timeframe. If we’re going to hit the numbers we need to hit for fleet adoption, we need as many places for those vehicles to recharge as possible. Soon they won’t have a choice.

Now are we still stuck maintaining our addiction with clean needles, or, best case, settling for methadone? And oil only seems cheap. We won’t need new power plants, since we have enough off-peak electricity to recharge as many retrofits as we can build. But let’s realize: defending our nation is never cheap.
