The Transportation and Climate Initiative Program (TCI-P) expects to cut greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles in the region by an estimated 26% from 2022 to 2032, and generate a total of more than $3 billion dollars over ten years for the participating jurisdictions to invest.

A new study led by Colorado State University predicts significant climate benefits stemming from the use of advanced biofuel technologies. Accounting for all of the carbon flows in biofuel systems and comparing them to those in grasslands and forests, the team found that there are clear strategies for biofuels to have a net carbon benefit.

However, there’s a shortage of roboticists tackling climate change, due to a lack of awareness of necessary and urgent applications. Surprisingly, many founders I talked with echoed the shortage of roboticists in climate tech.

Canada’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, and the Chair of the California Air Resources Board, Mary Nichols, today signed a new cooperation agreement to advance cleaner vehicles and fuels. Canada is developing a Clean Fuel Standard that will cut emissions by 30 million tonnes in 2030.

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) has released a new report, State-Level Energy-Related Carbon Dioxide Emissions, 2000-2010.
