What the Corsair PHEV does, or should do, is open the brand to a new audience who will consider buying a Lincoln for the first time.

Registrations of SUVs fell by 48% to 338,300 units while increasing their market share to almost 40%. For example, volume only fell by 5% for the Volvo XC40, which became the top-selling premium SUV in March, and the Range Rover Evoque registered 5,700 units, down by 3%. Some models performed better than others.

The figure does not include plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). Volkswagen Group and Mercedes-Benz will bring more EVs to market in 2021 with production plans based on new EV-specific platforms (although the dealer network will need to be much better at selling EVs to achieve targets).

A Premium Small SUV with Handling Like a Sports Wagon. The all-new 2022 Genesis GV70 slots in just below the larger GV80 SUV, both of which will be joined soon by the all-electric GV60. Clean Fleet Report would not be surprised if Genesis has even more SUVs on the drawing board, with most of them being hybrids, plug-in hybrids or EVs.

Alfa Romeo Tonale – the Italian brand finally has a rechargeable car in its ranks in the form of the Tonale PHEV compact SUV. No surprises there are promises of big performance for a PHEV due late in 2022 or early 2023.
