Morgan Motor Company has rolled out a new concept for an all-electric sports car based on its second-generation Morgan Super3. Called the Morgan XP-1, the new battery-electric concept is said to preview the small British firm’s latest EV tech, rather than pave the way for a zero-emission three-wheeler Morgan.

Feb by a 116kWh high voltage battery pack, the G580 is claimed to have a 473km WLTP range and average consumption of 27.7-30.3kWh Great question. The G580 is claimed to accelerate from 0-100km in just 4.7 30.3kWh (yep, you read that right).

Proponents believe such a car could be easily refuelled with hydrogen and assumed it would have greater range than a pure all-electric car. Recent developments in lithium ion batteries, and the consequential range improvements of EVs has significantly dampened enthusiasm for hydrogen fuel cells. The reasons are numerous. .
