TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has launched the all-new GR010 HYBRID Le Mans Hypercar, which will compete in the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The GR010 HYBRID features a four-wheel-drive racing hybrid powertrain, with a 3.5-liter Nyck de Vries continues in his role as test and reserve driver.

Drivers Alex Wurz and Nicolas Lapierre started from pole position in the TS030 HYBRID as the #7 maintained its record of having led every race in which it has competed. The project to develop a hybrid system for motorsport began in 2006 under Hisatake Murata, now Hybrid Project Leader at Toyota Racing.

Porsche AG is entering a third Porsche 919 Hybrid for the 24-hour race in Le Mans (France) on 13-14 June in 2015. To date we have achieved five podium places, three pole positions and two record laps, in Shanghai and Bahrain. This is why we will take on the challenge with three Porsche 919 Hybrids in 2015.

Toyota Racing scored a one-two finish (#8 taking first, #7 second) from pole position in the Six Hours of Silverstone with its new TS040 HYBRIDs ( earlier post ) in a the first race of the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship season. Both Toyota cars pitted for new tires, the #7 taking wets and the #8 taking hybrid intermediates.

At the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) next week, China-based GAC Motor will unveil three new vehicles: a new SUV, a hybrid crossover concept car, and an elecric vehicle developed internally. GAC is the only Chinese automaker to exhibit at the 2017 NAIAS and is also the first Chinese automaker to present on the main show floor.
