The supercar is designed to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just three seconds and reach a top speed of over 200 mph, according to Velozzi. Hybrid electric vehicles and their plug-in cousins have given way to extended-range electric vehicles, and as a consequence, turbines are being looked at with much more seriousness.

Spirit Avert AG is seeking to raise CHF166 million (US$152 million) in financing to serve as the capital for mindset AG and its planned production of the E-Motion extended range electric vehicle for the European market. The car offers 100 km (62 miles) of range in all-electric mode, and up to 800 km (497 miles) with the range extender.

The Fisker Karma plug-in extended range electric vehicle ( earlier post ) made its public driving debut over the weekend, 19 months after being introduced as a concept. The Fisker Karma can reach 60 mph (97 km/h) in six seconds and has a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h).

The Fisker Karma Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) ( earlier post ) will make its public driving debut during the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races on 15 August, 19 months after being unveiled as a concept car. The Fisker Karma PHEV is an extended range electric vehicle. 260 hp (194 kW) Ecotec engine from GM.
