And she had a point: Carmakers and countries are announcing efforts to phase out fossil-fuel burning automobiles in the next two decades. We'll be interested in how much carbon-based fuels such as coal and natural gas went into the electrical energy that charged our batteries. She's 90 years old. I didn't feel like arguing with her.

While, I might personally like a plug-in hybrid that then goes to hybrid, to get the market ready for the technology, an EV range / dual-fuel car can work. You see, all we are doing is going back to what we started from; which is the essence of the automobile (since the first cars were electric). It brings me back to the electric car.
