The Fit EV battery can be recharged in less than 3 hours from a low charge indicator illumination point with its 6.6 City and highway cycle fuel-economy ratings are 132 and 105 MPGe, respectively. Volkswagen unveiled the Golf Sportwagen HyMotion hydrogen fuel cell hybrid research vehicle demonstrator yesterday at the Los Angeles Auto Show ( earlier post ). The high-voltage lithium-ion battery, which has its own cooling circuit, is mounted close to the trunk and rear suspension. Passat HyMotion in LA.

Hyundai is initially offering the Tucson Fuel Cell to customers in the Los Angeles/Orange County region for a 36-month term at $499 per month, with $2,999 down. Hyundai’s position on fuel cell vehicles is that they alleviate the limitations of traditional battery-electric vehicles with respect to range and refueling (recharging) time.
