It's expensive($65), but I suspect it's easier to use than the tool shown in the VoltsPorsche DC manual. I still need to add the spring, cotter-pin and 5mm threaded barrel listed in the instructions, so I hope those come later with the remainder of the kit parts. Here's the Rivnut Gun.

The DC-DC converter is still working fine, so the car is actually quite convenient to drive. I called around to several Porsche repair shops and finally found Dan Hall's Auto Machine. The same thing helps when starting from stopped on a hill. I haven't touched my gasoline car in two weeks now. Stay tuned.

ARB could spend a year in conversation with stakeholders to figure out regs and credits for new OEM plug-in hybrid cars. Lately Goldman has been driving one around DC, meeting with policy makers and pushing for consumer incentives for hybrid conversions. However, there are innumerable ways to do it. I lost much sleep last night obsessing about how I could fix the DC-DC converter and, as a result, I was very tired and had an irritable day. I find out this morning from Ross Cunniff (who also recently completed the 914 AC kit), that he has had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS with his CCPower DC-DC converter.

On minor disappointment is that the cable supplied in the kit is #2 gauge cable. I suppose the AC kit doesn't require as much current as the DC kit, but I'll take all the efficiency I can get at this point. He converted his 914 with the Electro Auto DC kit and challenged me to a duel at NEDRA.

Omissions include a head-up display and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, the latter covered off by Tesla’s own Bluetooth-based connectivity. The hardware for the tow kit is due in 2023. Certainly sounds impressive and is a great conversation starter for those who have a boring quad-zone ventilation system….
