The project aims to build the first Tesla Solar neighborhood, making a sustainable residential community. Austin, Texas-based energy research organization Pecan Street Inc. launched Texas’ first grid-tied vehicle-to-grid (V2G) testing center at its lab in Austin, turning electric vehicles into a dispatchable load shaving tool for the municipally-owned electric utility, Austin Energy.

The primary element of one of Michigan’s largest solar power generation systems at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant is now up and running. Ford collaborated with DTE Energy to install the 500 kW solar photovoltaic panel system at Michigan Assembly. Michigan Assembly will operate on a blend of renewable and conventional electricity.
