April sales figures are in for electric vehicle models in 10 European countries — Norway, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark. The site EU-EVs.com have pulled the figures together, and I’ve created some charts of the April and January–April figures for this article.

IONITY, a joint venture of BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company, as well as the Volkswagen Group with Audi and Porsche, has to date opened 202 charging sites across 18 European markets. The customized chargers being supplied by ABB for IONITY are ABB’s slimmest design to date and align with IONITY’s design needs.

Last October, GM announced that it was launching sales in Switzerland as a first step in its all-electric return to Europe after selling off the Opel and Vauxhall brands back in 2017. In Switzerland, the Lyriq starts 82,000 Swiss francs ($93,100), but GM has not yet provided pricing for France.

Switzerland-based Climeworks, a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH), recently launched the world’s first commercial plant that captures atmospheric CO 2 for supply and sale to a customer. Switzerland moving to accept CO 2 -neutral synthetic fuels to reduce fleet emissions.
