ICE vehicles will attract carbon taxes in many countries due to the air pollution they cause. But in reality they want the world to keep using OIL. Of course they won't. Just like KODAK and NOKIA.

Oil is the alternative. Are we going to burn more oil, natural gas, or (gasp) coal to produce it? The most common methods involve burning natural gas, oil or coal to power the engines to generate electricity. In effect therefore, the more energy convertion stages there are the less efficient the process is.
